OEA/NEA Legal Services Plan-Job Related
Teachers in need legal services for job-related matters must complete
an application form at the CEA office. OEA will not accept requests for
legal services unless they are made directly through CEA. Call CEA at

2007-2008 CEA Comprehensive Personal Legal Services Plan
CEA has established a Comprehensive Legal Services Plan
with the law firm of Cloppert, Latanick, Sauter & Washburn.
Participation in the Plan requires enrollment between Sept. 1 and Oct.
31 of the Plan year and payment of a retainer of $425 to the Plan
attorneys. Benefits of enrollment in the CEA Plan are set forth in the
CEA Membership Handbook, and participants are eligible for reduced legal
fees and substantially reduced hourly rates. There is a $100 deductible.
Plan members are entitled to legal representation with substantially reduced fees for:
- personal injury and debt claims
- workers compensation
- estate planning/probate
- criminal/traffic defense
- real estate
- domestic relations
- credit problems
- small business
- other civil trials and appeals
OEA/NEA Attorney Referral Program
Even without participating in the CEA Comprehensive Legal Services
Plan, all CEA members are automatically enrolled in the OEA/NEA
Attorney Referral Program. The Attorney Referral Program provides
comprehensive legal services at moderate rates which are lower than
rates normally charged. The Attorney Referral Program lawyers are
Cloppert, Latanick, Sauter & Washburn.
The Plan provides the following services at no charge:
• first thirty minutes on each legal problem/consultation with a limit of four consultations per year.
• notary public services.
• Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care and Living Will for members and spouses.
The OEA/NEA Attorney Referral Program offers legal services at reduced legal fees for the following:
- personal injury and debt claims
and workers compensation (no charge for consultation), reduced fees are
paid only from compensation and damages paid to you.)
- criminal/traffic defense
- estate planning/probate
- real estate
- domestic relations
- credit problems
- small business
- hourly legal work
