Rick Logan - Labor Relations Consultant

Rick Logan has always had strong ties to Columbus teachers. He taught for many years at Franklin Middle School. Here he became active in the Association as a Faculty Representatives and Governor. He was elected Vice President of CEA in 1978 and served for two terms. Rick became a Labor Relations Uniserv Consultant for the Ohio Education Association. After gaining experience in other Ohio School Distritct he returned to CEA as a Uniserv Consultant.

He has served as our Chief Negotiator for a number of years. Rick has a positive reputation of being a problem solver for teachers. His duties vary from assisting individual members to serving as a liaison to various committees. He also works closely with the local courts and legal system.

After his recent retirement from the OEA, Rick continues to work for CEA as a consultant in all Labor Relations capacities.

Bob Hern - CEA Staff Consultant

Bob Hern was a technology teacher at the Northeast Career Center before joining the Association staff. He has served as a Faculty Representative and shown a great deal of interest in the activities of the Association. He specializes in the technology and printing facets of the CEA office. However, he brings a wealth of experience to us from outside of education. Bob is ready to assist members in all areas.

Ezetta Murray - CEA Staff Consultant

Ezetta Murray had been an elementary teacher in Columbus before joining the CEA staff. She was most recently a first grade teacher at Maize Elementary. She has been active in the Association as a Faculty Representative, committee member and a delegate to Central, Capital, OEA, and NEA Assemblies. Ezetta has also been on the Negotiations Team. With her wealth of experience, she works solidly to represent Columbus teachers. 

Carol Wagner - CEA Staff Consultant

Carol Wagner has previously served the CEA as Vice President. She has worked for the Association as an FR, Governor and negotiations team member. She has held numerous other positions including chair of CEA's Legislative Committee and secretary of TBS. Carol has also been a member of the Executive Board of the Central Ohio Teachers Association and the OEA Legislative Commission. Carol has served for many years as president of the Franklin County Council of Education Associations and on several United Way Committees. She has taught both elementary and middle school levels.

Tracey Johnson - Staff Consultant

Tracey Johnson was a language arts teacher at Yorktown Middle School prior to joining the Columbus Education Association staff. She has taught both elementary and middle school students. Tracey was also a Peer Assistance and Review Consulting Teacher.

Tracey has been a Senior Faculty Representative and currently serves on the CEA Board of Governors as a Middle School Governor-at-Large. Tracey has been a member of numerous committees for the Association including the Minority Involvement Program Committee and the Negotiations Team where she served as a Core member during the last round of negotiations. She has represented CEA as a delegate at severalNEA, OEA, Central and Capital Representative Assemblies. Her experience shall prove to be an asset to the Association and its members.

Deborah Huffman-Mirib - Negotiations Chair

Deborah Huffman-Mirib is a very experienced teacher who currently works in the PAR Office.

Debby is a gifted educator

She is the Chair of the CEA Bargaining Team.

Sue Misiak - WCBE Radio Program Host

Sue Misiak is the host of Teacher Talk which is the CEA program on WCBE Radio. She taught at West High School for many years. Sue provides a wide range of programming for this very popular show.


Greg Goodlander - Legislative Coordinator

Greg Goodlander is the main lobbyist for the CEA at the Ohio Legislature. He teaches at Ecole Kenwood. Greg is very active in the Association as a member of the Board of Governors, Faculty Representative and committee member.


Susan McCoy - Scholarship Committee and LPDC (Local Professional Development Committee)

Susan McCoy serves as the chair of this group that oversees the CEA annual scholarships. At least two, four-year, scholarships are granted annually. One must go to a child of a member pursuing a career in education. Susan has been active in CEA as a member of the Board of Governors, on various committees both at the local and state levels, plus served as a delegate.

Susan is the co-chair of the LPDC (Local Professional Development Committee. It is responsible for overseeing all of the professional development records of the district. This group, which is composed mostly of teachers, authorizes what courses and workshops are acceptable according to approved standards.


Christy Maser - Scholarship Foundation

Christy Maser chairs this important committee. It oversees the disbursement of scholarships from the members’ scholarship foundation. Currently, every child of a member who is in good standing as a senior at a college or university will receive a scholarship. The foundation has assets exceeding $750,000. Christy is a member of the Board of Governors on various committees and has been a delegate.
