CEA President

Rhonda Johnson

Rhonda Johnson currently serves as CEA President. She was elected to this office in 2004. Previously, she served as the Vice President of CEA from 1994 until 2004. Before, she was a business teacher at the Northwest Career Center in the Banking Technology Program.

Rhonda has been very active in the Association. She has served as Governor of District One, Governor–at-Large, committee chair, Faculty Representative, Bargaining Team member, and Reform Panel member. She has also served on the Central-OEA/NEA Executive Board and other Central-OEA/NEA committees. She has been a delegate to the NEA, OEA, Central & Capital Representative Assemblies.

Rhonda has also been involved in a member of community and national activities. She served on the Board of the Consumers Council of Ohio as Associate Chair of the United Way Campaign, and the Board of the United Way. She is a member of the Ohio 8, TURN, and the Holmes Partnership.

The CEA President is the chief public spokesperson for the Columbus Education Association.

CEA Vice President

Sally Oldham

Sally Oldham, recently elected Vice President of CEA, has been an elementary teacher in Columbus for more than 30 years. She has taught grades 1-5 and also served as a PAR Consulting Teacher. She has been very active in the Association serving as a Faculty Representative, committee member/chair, member of the Reform Panel, and for many years as a member of the Board of Governors. Sally has been a leader in the CEA for many years and we are proud to have her join the staff.


Secretary

Michele Mays

Michele Mays is the secretary of the Association. She is responsible for all the minutes and records of the CEA. Also, she oversees the elections and advises the Elections Committee. Michele is a teacher at Sherwood Middle School. As an active CEA member, she has been a Faculty Representative, served on a number of committees and been a delegate to the Central, Capital, OEA, and NEA Representative assemblies.

Secretary

Beth Masters

Beth Masters is the co-secretary of the Association. She is responsible for the minutes and records of the Board of Governors and all of the elections for the union. Beth is a teacher at West High School. She has been an active CEA member for 29 years. She has been a Faculty Representative, a member of several committees and has served on the Board of Governors as a Middle School Governor-at-Large. She is chair of the elections committee, is a bargaining team member and is part of the core negotiations team. Beth has been a delegate to the NEA, OEA and Central Representative Assemblies.


Budget Director

Tom Busher

Tom Busher is currently a business teacher at Southeast Career Center where he instructs an accounting program for juniors and seniors. A 27 year member of the Association, Tom has served as Faculty Representative, ABC member and past member of the Ohio Business Teachers Association (OBTA). Tom oversees the revenue and expenditures of all CEA accounts, budgeting and is the CEA financial representative with Capital District, CEA Foundation and numerous financial organizations that conduct business with CEA.
