Two CEA members earn NEA's "Political Activist of the Year" nomination

Traci Arway (left) and Daria DeNoia (right) are two of just eight finalists for NEA’s Political Activist of the Year award.

Out of more than 3 million members, NEA selected just 8 individuals to be finalists for the first-ever presentation of NEA’s Political Activist of the Year award. CEA is proud to announce that two of the eight finalists are our members– Traci Arway (Neil Avenue) and Daria DeNoia (PAR).

Traci and Daria were chosen as finalists based on the amount and quality of political activism undertaken in the preceding year, and delegates at this year’s NEA Representative Assembly will be able earn points for their favorite nominee and help choose the Political Activist of the Year.

Traci and Daria are the cream of the crop, leading the way in election campaigns and legislative advocacy efforts through actions like sending letters and emails to elected officials, calling fellow members, and knocking doors to speak up for their students and public education.
